The church at North Walsham not only has a worship area as you would expect, (some denominations call it a sanctuary), but other rooms on the premises are used on an almost daily basis.
Have a look around:
Inside the Worship Area there are around 90 comfortable chairs, a pipe organ and grand piano. There are wide doors for access, and an efficient heating system. The communion rail is detachable and can be removed when more space at the front is required.
This is where Sunday Worship takes place.
Printed words are available but mostly the hymn words are projected onto the wall which doubles as a screen.
Sometimes the service contains images and video clips.
Connected to the Worship Area is the:
This is a smaller room that serves as a small meeting area and a coffee lounge.
Part of the church site is a room we call The Dayspring
This is a very adaptable room which is used for fitness groups and others during the week.
The Quilters also hire this space on the second and last Fridays each month to set out their equipment. We have also let this room to Clubs and Societies in the town as well as our own church use.
Leading out from the Dayspring is a delightful small lawn and garden area.
Here people can sit outside in a safe and enclosed environment, and chat, weather permitting.
We have named this area Meg's Garden in memory of one of the former Worship Leaders at North Walsham Methodist Church.
At the centre of the church rooms is the:
The kitchen has recently been refurbished and can now cater for most events. We have an electric oven, dishwasher and microwave and an automatic hot water dispenser.
There are serving hatches into the meeting areas to restrict access to the kitchen whilst in use.
We hope this gives a insight into the church interior.
These rooms are available for hire by non-church organisations. Please note that no alcohol is permitted on the premises.
