Phase 1
The roof was repaired and made watertight. The ceiling renewed and wood stained, and the floor dug out and relaid as a flat surface making it accessible to everybody. The worship area is now a beautiful usable space.
Phase 2
This involved rewiring the electrics and decorating, followed by laying the flooring.
The kitchen is a lovely bright yellow, and the new fittings are all in place. Catering has never been so easy!
We have been blessed recently with money coming in towards our project. The Gift Aid claim, which is the Governments allowance to us, amounted to just over £3,000, we received a very welcome and generous gift towards the solar panels from friends, and the 'Green Token' money has arrived from Waitrose, which is another £190, thank you all who donated. We still have to raise another £5000 for the solar panels, which will make a huge difference to our running costs.
The end wall has been plastered, and Danny the plasterer has given a very reasonable quote from him to complete the job and skim the rest of the walls. We will go ahead at the end of November.
The Chapel area is now complete, and in December the School Room will be started, with the floor being done first. The new toilet facilities are now in place, bringing us in line with the requirements of the Disability Act.
The plastering has now been completed and is looking splendid! The next job is to have the walls painted, and the carpet laid... Nearly there!
Big news! The solar panels are in place and working, we are now a 'green' establishment and will be hopefully earning some revenue from the feed into the grid!
The light of the Cross reflected through the new front door.
School Room
We have had some work done on the school room floor, but are awaiting completion. We already have funds to fit the carpet. Its all taking a little longer than anticipated, but will be worth the wait.
Update on the schoolroom. June 2017
The floor is at last laid, and we now await the panelling and painting, the carpets and some storage. It's all coming together!
